REVEIW IN VENUE MAGAZINE! Mr Wolf’s, Bristol (Fri 20 May) "Mr Wolf’s on a Friday night and it’s a bit slow to fill up. That might actually help Benny Sensus a little, their acoustic indie-hop sound deserving of some careful listening, but they’d have wanted a bigger crowd for sure. Not that it showed – they played to the max, twin guitars giving a driving energy counterplayed by Jakk Tunnicliffe’s cello, at times soaring and others grinding. Amiable frontman Bow Bamonte handles the mix of covers and original numbers with assurance, with rapping poet Lewin Hayes taking turns between the plaintive choruses. Despite lack of drums or bass, the sound has a tight groove and the lengthy ‘Unstoppable’ has “catchy single” written al over it." Tony Benjamin - Venue Magazine |
